Most companies have an elevator speech – we had an elevator genesis.
In 2011, we coordinated a large VIP event at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The event brought together executives from a Fortune 12 healthcare company and the most well-known senior organization in the world.
After a glorious dinner on the Target Terrace rooftop, catered by Wolfgang Puck, we headed downstairs to the Clive Davis Theater to hear stories from Ken Ehrlich, the Grammy Producer for the last 30 years.
For 2 hours, our guests were riveted. "What was it like working with Prince? How did you think of pairing Stevie Nicks with Taylor Swift?"
While riding the elevator, Amy, a Business Development Director and an event guest, turned to me and said:
“I would never miss a Wendy Porter event.
You create the most amazing events.
You should start a business – Wendy Porter Events.”
And so, in 2015, we did.
